The are several benefits to laser hair removal, the first is that it is permanent! Once a follicle is destroyed, it does not produce hair. Please note, Unlike shaving, epilating, or waxing, laser hair removal completely deactivates the hair follicle. So after your completed sessions, you’ll never need to worry about hair growing back! Please note that as we age or go through hormone changes, light vellus hair may turn dark.

Laser hair removal is much less painful compared to plucking or waxing your hair. Laser treatments may feel like a prickly or stinging sensation and are much more tolerable than waxing. Our Zimmer cooling device adds comfort by blowing cold air on the area to be treated.

Laser hair removal can be performed on any body part, from the back to the bikini area to the face and everything in between. However, depilatory creams, epilators, and razors might not be practical on delicate areas such as your face or hard-to-reach areas like your back.

• Do not pluck, wax, or epilate the treatment area 4 weeks before the appointment.
• Please shave the area(s) 1-2 days before your treatment. We want a slight stubble of hair, not too much hair, and not a clean shave. If your hair is too long, then we are burning hair and not destroying follicles. If your hair is too short we may not have a strong target for the laser. (Shaving time may vary depending on the body part or how fast or slow your hair grows. Your technician will guide you through this process and recommend the actual shaving time before your treatment.)
• Please shave the hard-to-reach places and nooks and crannies. The way you shave directly affects your results.
• Do not wear any perfume, lotion, body spray, or self-tanner to your appointment.
• Make sure you are off any antibiotics for 2 weeks before your appointment, as some of them can make your skin photosensitive. Please inform your technician anytime you are on a prescribed medication such as an antibiotic.
• No prolonged sun or UV exposure 2 weeks before or right after your appointment. Tanned skin and laser hair removal do not go well together! This is very important.
• Please refrain from exercise, hot showers, hot yoga, saunas, IR saunas, etc., 24 hours after your appointment.
• If you are pregnant and/or lactating, you are not eligible for laser hair removal unless we have a note from your physician.

We don’t think so! Electrolysis works on light, white, grey, or red hair, which does not work with laser hair removal. Electrolysis is time-consuming, tedious and destroys follicle by follicle. We recommend a series of laser hair removal treatments and finishing with electrolysis for the hair follicles that the laser could not destroy. 

Laser hair removal side effects are typically mild. As mentioned above, it’s usually red skin with a mild sunburn-like sting, which resolves in a few hours. Some clients have zero side effects. 

Yes! Our technicians are certified, but more importantly, extremely skilled! At Vasu Skin Solutions, we use the 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:Yag, which many consider the gold standard in laser hair removal.

YES, laser hair removal is safe for all body parts with the exception of close to the eyes or eyebrows. Even the most sensitive areas are safe for laser hair removal.

YES! Men LOVE permanent hair reduction for their neck, back, chest, arms, legs, unwanted nose or ear hair, and other body parts.

The treated area may be mildly red and swollen around the follicle. It may feel like a mild sunburn. These reactions typically subside within a couple of hours. Not having any reaction is also normal.

No, it may take 7 to 21 days for the hair to release from the follicle. You may shave in between appointments.
